Hello! I’m Alice, a 22 year old third girl from London living in Cape Town! I’m a third year student at UCT, currently doing my Senior Research Project. I didn’t do matric, because I studied using the U.K. system, GCSEs and AS/A Levels. You can see my grades on my profile. I’ve tutored many high schoolers over the years, so I know how the South African syllabus works. I’d love to help anyone who feels they’re struggling! On that note, I am also equipped to assist students with learning disabilities, as I have dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD, so have learnt many coping strategies along my journey. Hope to hear from you!
I received my B Prim Ed in 1992 and an Advanced Certificate in English Education in 2004. I have taught English for just over twenty-three years to a variety of grades from grade 4 to Matric, with the exception of grade 11. My favourite grades though, are grade 4 to 7. I become a Head of Academics in 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed mentoring other teachers and students. As a teacher I was involved in debating, public speaking events, Eisteddfods, drama and various Olympiads. While teaching at a high school, I did Matric marking (English) for the Department of Education for four years. I have always done editing (newsletters, reports, exams, magazines etc.) for the schools I taught at.
