Experience
Au Pair
I was an Au Pair for 3 years in 3 different countries (Austria, Germany & Luxembourg). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of looking after children and helping out around the house. It was culturally very enriching. I helped out where the families needed me and sped a lot of time with the children, either helping out with homework, taking them to the park or playing games to practice their English.
Camp Counselor
I was a camp counselor at a summer camp, where I helped out with outdoor activities, take care of the children who attended the camp and help out where needed.

Bachelor's degree in Humanities - Stellenbosch University
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Humanities, with a triple major in English Studies, History and Afrikaans and Dutch.

History is often seen as a boring subject, about something that happened in the past. I do not believe this. I think it is a wonderful subject that just needs a new set of glasses. History is not about memorization, because what is the use of knowing all the dates, without knowing what happened and why it was important. History is about so much more than just dates and I am here to help you develop the skills to see and understand that.

I have a passion for the subject. English was one of my majors during undergraduate studies and I am also currently studying to become an English and History teacher. I have experience with helping younger children learn English, since I worked overseas for 3 years. I also completed my TEFL degree, so if you are learning English as a foreign language, I will also be able to help you. It is important to me to make learning an enjoyable experience and I will do my best to help you achieve your personal goal.
