Subjects taught
  • English Literature

I've always been an avid reader and lover of stories. In high school I took Advanced Program English, which was predominantly literature based, and received above 85% in my final exam. I then took English literature at a university level and received a first class distinction. My marks speak for themselves, but my passion is what sets me apart.

  • History

I've always been an avid history buff. I was the nerdy kid who used to watch the History channel, and to this day I still watch historical shows on Netflix. I received 89% for History in Matric, and I look forward to helping you enjoy this subject. As a journalism student at university, I am able to write and report in many different formats. I will work with you on essay formats, how to prepare for discursive essays, and how to understand sources.

  • Vocabulary

If you are looking to improve your vocabulary, I will be able to help you. I will challenge you, as that is how I've learnt best. I am a creative teacher, and patient with learners. I was one of the top 10 English students throughout high school, and also received distinctions in English during university. I am qualified and am eager to tutor this subject.

  • Writing

While I received distinctions in high school and university for both English and Advanced Programme English, it is also my current job as an editor and freelance writer that qualifies me for this tutoring position. I will work through sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, style, tone and more.

  • Grammar

I am a kinder teacher than Grammarly, and will help you to understand the inner workings of the English language. It is complex, but we shall conquer it. In learning more about grammar you will become a better reader, writer and appreciator of this language.

I am passionate about storytelling, writing, and reading - all of which are both hobbies and skills that can be taught, which is where I come in.
